"The seating outside in lobby had mold on it. The staff didn’t seem to know any English at all. Cats, which I’m allergic to, allowed to sit and lay on furniture in public areas. Ceiling leaking in 1 room. We stayed only 1 nite because it was so bad and they only refunded a small portion back instead of refunding us for the nights we didn’t stay, which was March 14-18th. The WiFi barely worked and kept dropping so we couldn’t keep in contact with elderly family member. The lights went out in the property due to electrical issues. We were eating in the dark so if bugs or whatever was in our food, we wouldn’t have known because we couldn’t see in the dark. It was a horrible experience and to not be reimbursed properly made it that much worse. The hotel lied and said it was up to Expedia to determine the refund amount. This wasn’t true. The hotel didn’t want to reimburse us all of it because they wanted the free money. "

"Wonderful beach. Staff were friendly. Food was good but often overcooked. Room was clean. Hotel website lacked information when we were booked (i.e. early check-in, room amenities, entertainment)and messages to hotel were not answered. Once there and logged on their site, it showed closed restaurants and didn't show room service menu. "

"I am extremely satisfied with my stay at El Navegante Hotel in Bayahibe! Check in process was easy. 24 hours before my expected arrival I sent the host a message through the expedia app and she responded with my room number and lock code to enter the room. I found the code lock to be extremely handy so I didn't have to worry about losing a key or key card while at the beach. This property is an apartment style building right in the neighborhood. I appreciate these types of accommodations because it allows me to get a sense of the culture in the place I am visiting. I dont get that sense when I am staying at a big box hotel. My room was a studio apartment with a kitchenette. The AC kept the temperature in the room very comfortable! Speaking of comfort, the bed was fantastic! I dont sleep that comfortably at my own house! I was very pleased! There is a restaurant on the property also. So its convenient to find something eat. There is a corner store only a few steps away from the entrance for all of the goodies when you get the munchies. The beach was about a 10 to 15 minute walk from the hotel. The host lives on the premises. She and her daughter were extremely helpful during my 5 day stay in bayahibe. When I was checking out she was able to secure a taxi for me for far less than another company was going to charge me to get to the airport. I would recommend El Navegante 1000% to anyone looking for an authentic experience in Bayahibe! "

"Beach was amazing. Clear blue waters and areas you can snorkel and see fish. Cute bungalow home with large bed. Food was great - Recommend booking at Atlantis. Yudelka was available from the first day. I dont stay at places twice, but I would stay Viva again. 10/10"
