The chef is from Mumbai, worked at a 5🌟hotel in Dubai, as well as India. For the record my boyfriend hates curry and has never eaten Indian food but loved this place. The Naan is just the best thing ever. We enjoyed unlimited ocean access, enjoyed the covered dock and access to kayaks, SUPs, etc. The kitchen offered everything we needed to cook breakfasts and a few evening meals at the villa. The villa has a funky vibe -paint themes, tiling, etc. that we enjoyed. Not a sterile, bland place at all. We very much felt at home. We took advantage of the washer and dryer to leave our stay with clean clothes! Nice. We had a small issue with sargassum (certainly not the host's fault!) but we were able to swim each day by going out on the dock to enter the water. We did have to go through some sargassum leaving the water - a ladder of some type (removeable?) would help facilitate getting back on to the dock for us 70 folks. We enjoyed watching the Olympics, Michigan basketball and some movies on TV. Again we felt right at home. This was simply a great place for a relaxing vacation. One caution - the circular (driveway) is narrow and not a true arc. I creased the lower panel of the rental car on landscaping rock/stone. I pulled straight in and backed out after that. Again not the fault of the owner. Lots of guide books and paperbacks are in the bookshelves - I left a fiction book I had brought (and took one) plus I left a guide book for future guests to use. Th ruins at Xunantunich and the Farmers market in SA are worth the trip. It is absolutely magical. Our beach front bungalow was truly breathtaking. It was immaculate, well kept, looked brand new even though it is ten years old and sooooo spacious. The bed was super comfortable, lots of pillows and soft cotton bedding. The outdoor shower was the best!!!!! Oh, if only we could have one at home. Housekeeping came every day and did a splendid job. We are neat freaks and it was just perfect! The grounds are meticulously cared for and truly magnificent! Such a treat to walk out of the bungalow straight to the ocean. The staff and all the employees are sooooo friendly and helpful. They were just a delight to be around. In fact, I asked the gentleman at the front desk to open up the gift shop for me so that I could purchase some aloe vera gel for a pretty bad sunburn...he quickly opened it and I picked up the bottle of gel and he asked if I would prefer the all-natural route. Of course I was delighted to and within two minutes he was back with a beautiful piece of an aloe vera plant that they grow by their little greenhouse. It was truly a lifesaver - first time I have burned that bad and NOT blistered!!! And the FOOD!!! The food is amazing!!! Compliments to the chef!!!! The waiters are super nice and genuinely concerned about your experience - each and every meal. They are truly experts at their craft. Excellent fitness center too!
