"The Driftwood Inn is in a nice location away from the hustle and bustle of the main town and port. There is a great bus service taking you around the island either clockwise, anticlockwise or through the middle therefore enabling you to visit those museums and other attractions within a reasonable time. The Inn is somewhat dated although comfortable; servicing of rooms includes a quick clean, not vacuum, replacement toiletries and coffee/tea but no clean towels or bedding. Staffing during the day is kept to a bare minimum, usually just the owner so if you want a drink from the bar you need to send out a search party... Breakfast: continental breakfast consists of 3 types of cereal, bread for toasting, 2 types of fruit juice and some mixed fruit and yoghurt. Cooked breakfast was the normal full English and variations of, smoked haddock, French toast and vegetarian option - all of which were cooked to a high degree of acceptance. The staff at meal times were very professional, cheery and helpful. Would I go back? Probably not but then again I wouldn't bother going back to Guernsey as I had seen what I wanted - the Occupational history - nothing else would entice me."

"Boutique hotel with lovely views of Cobo Bay. At the front is a pebbled patio with comfortable garden chairs where you can enjoy the view with a drink. The rooms are modern with nice decor and well equipped including a safe, tea and coffee etc. The bed was very comfortable with sumptuous pillows. Breakfast is good, lots of choice and cooked to order. Staff are polite and helpful. We did have an issue with our room but this was resolved when brought to their attention. Be mindful that not all rooms are the same but the rate is the same and very expensive (almost London rate) for what you get. Sea view rooms (even more expensive) are close to the road which is busy during the day. If you don’t have a sea view room I recommend a room facing north where it is quieter, away from the road and the restaurant next door."
