But the part that got me? They found out it was my husband’s birthday and didn’t just say “oh, happy birthday” and move on. No. They went full old-school charm and left him an adorable little birthday surprise in the room — food, presented with that unforced thoughtfulness you can’t fake. He lit up like a kid, and I might have gotten a little misty, but don’t tell anyone. If you want sterile efficiency, book somewhere else.
