Chalets à Pennsylvania Furnace

« The hotel was reasonably priced and a half hour drive from Penn State, where we had a weekend event. The location felt safe and was conveniently next door to a Rutter's. We appreciated the free hot breakfast in the hotel, which was pretty decent and better than expected. This was the first hotel room that I've stayed in where the mini fridge's small freezer compartment actually kept my ice packs frozen. However, the room felt dark and outdated, and had a perfumy smell. It is pretty bare bones...

« Shopping near by. Parking close to main entrance is limited but not too bad (plenty on side of building) and it is a slight downward descent for the parking lot. »

« Pros: Nice new and clean hotel with convenient location and good staff. Cons: Demand pricing was crazy high. No hot water in evening or in morning. Bathroom light is on motion sensor and doesn’t recognize movement when in the shower so goes dark constantly. »

« Place was poorly maintained. Mouse poop on countertops, in drawers, and in closets. Heat in room with 2 doubles did not work. Purchased firewood that was not chopped. »

« Great location close to everything! You are able to walk the downtown and the river very easily. The apartment had everything we needed. The host was very communicative and the check in instructions were easy. The building is a little older and doesn’t retain heat as well so make sure you bring warmer clothes for a winter stay. They did have a space heater in the bedroom to use so that was great! Overall a good stay, would come back again! »
