From the start Carlo and Elena were perfect hosts - great communicators, greeting us, advising us on the places to visit, showing us how they produce their 75 year old balsamic vinegar and opening up their home. Vignola is a great base for visits to Bologna, Modena (home to Ferrari and its two museums) and towns like Ravenna ( famous for its Byzantine mosaics) and hilltop villages like Castelvetro - where we had drinks and meals at its superb restaurants. And when you want to chill, there was the pool and views across the cherry orchards. Shopping for your home stay is easy with an array of supermarkets within five minutes, bars and cafes … and then there’s the castle and the incredible floating staircase in Vignola itself. From start to finish, a great holiday, in a great location with superb hosts ."
