The Space:
SLEEPING AND LAYOUT
Bedroom 1: 1 king bed, opens onto the private balcony, built in wardrobe, own 50-inch smart TV
Bedroom 2: 2 king beds, the largest room in the apartment, with its own 50-inch smart TV, large wardrobe
Bedroom 3: 1 double bed (US full size)
All three bedrooms have a Thames view, blackout blinds, a desk of their own. There are no sofa beds and no air mattresses - every one of the eight sleeping spaces is a premium bed. This apartment is three generous bedrooms plus a kitchen. There is no separate living room and no dining table.
THE VIEW
Of everything guests write about this apartment, the view comes up most. The Thames is directly outside, and you get it from all three bedrooms and from the private balcony, where most people end up in the morning with a coffee watching the river ferries go past. After dark the water carries the lights of Canary Wharf back across to you.
KITCHEN AND LAUNDRY
A full kitchen, not a kitchenette: dishwasher, washer, oven and stovetop, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, and an American-style refrigerator-freezer big enough for a full week of groceries. Dishes, pans, glasses and silverware for all eight. Supermarkets and a good spread of restaurants are within a 15-minute walk, so self-catering here is as easy as at home.
INTERNET AND ENTERTAINMENT
1GB fiber internet throughout, with a dedicated desk in each of the three bedrooms. Two 50-inch smart TVs, ready for you to sign in to Netflix, Prime Video or BBC iPlayer with your own accounts.
GETTING AROUND LONDON
Canada Water station is a 15-minute walk. From there the Jubilee line - one of London's subway lines - reaches London Bridge and Borough Market in around 25 minutes door to door, with Waterloo, Soho, and the West End theaters not much further. City buses run from 5 minutes away.
Greenland Pier is 5 minutes from the front door. The Thames Clippers river ferry runs from there and reaches Canary Wharf in about 5 minutes and Battersea in 30. It is a commuter service and takes contactless card payment, but it is also the best sightseeing tour in London.
Greenwich - the Cutty Sark, Greenwich Market and the Royal Observatory, where the world's time is set - is around 25 minutes away, and The O2 arena with its outlet shopping is much the same. On a clear day, the Thames Path walks you all the way to Tower Bridge along the river.
FREE SECURE PARKING
One secure on-site parking space, included in the price. If you are hiring a car for trips outside London - Windsor, Oxford, the Cotswolds - this saves you £30 or more a night against central London parking. Drive in, park, and then leave the car alone: you will not need it inside the city.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD
The property is located in a quiet stretch of the south bank between Canada Water and Greenland Dock, nestled in marinas and a riverside path that runs for miles in both directions. It is residential rather than touristy, which is why it stays calm at night, and it sits close to a great deal without being in the middle of any of it. Canada Water has everyday shops, independent cafes and unique restaurants within a 15-minute walk, and Southwark Park, Greenland Dock and Stave Hill Ecological Park are all a few minutes on foot - useful green space if you are traveling with children.
