Charming, beautifully appointed North Pembrokeshire haven for musicians, cyclists, walkers and garde

Charming, beautifully appointed North Pembrokeshire haven for musicians, cyclists, walkers and gardeners... Ground Floor:
Living/dining room: Freeview TV, DVD Player, CD Player, Woodburner, Piano
Kitchen: Breakfast Bar, Electric Oven, Induction Hob, Microwave, Fridge/Freezer, Dishwasher, Washer Dryer
First Floor:
Bedroom: Double (4ft 6in) Bed
Bathroom: Bath With Shower Over, Toilet. Oil central heating, electricty, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Initial logs for wood burner included. Garden with patio, sitting-out area and garden furniture. Barbecue, on request. 1½-acre grounds with woodland (shared with owner). Bike store. Private parking for 1 car. No smoking.. This delightful cottage was once home to the coachman for the big house next door (now occupied by the current owners). It is hidden off the road in a charming country garden setting approached via a wooded driveway and surrounded by an exquisite profusion of colourful flowers and mature planting. Enjoy far-reaching views over rolling pastures to the twin beaches of Aberbach and Abermawr beyond.
The cottage oozes charm and sophistication with a fine, annually tuned baby-grand piano, a wealth of reading material and a comprehensive collection of CD’s. The beautifully appointed cosy sitting room with comfy sofas is warmed by a wood burning stove and a generous welcome pack of logs. It is a tranquil setting to relax and unwind. Food preparation and eating in the smart designer kitchen with a Neff induction hob is a joy, beautifully designed and crafted for the small space. Upstairs is an enchanting double bedroom with part exposed timbers, country furniture and a traditional bathroom, with new electric shower over the bath. While away sunny days in the fabulous garden either on the private terrace or shared lawn. A swing seat, wooden bench and dining furniture are provided and a gas barbecue is available on request. Bicycle storage is available perfect for those who intend to explore the National Cycle Route No 4 which passes just 300 metres from the cottage. The garden and grounds, shared with the adjoining owner’s house, are truly exquisite with a vast array of plants collected from around the country and globe. The owners are knowledgeable collectors of beautiful plants having widely travelled. The cottage is adorned with a collection of antiques from around the World from their travels.
Just two miles from the cottage is a valley where National Trust woodland paths lead down through a bluebell wood to the sand and shingle beaches at Abermawr and Aberbach. This is a lovely (potentially circular) walk for all ages. Play on the beach at Abermawr or the little cove at Aberbach and keep your eyes open for seals there in the autumn.
15 minutes’ drive away and a meandering route over the rocky headland is Strumble Head and the lighthouse. Well worth a visit, it is really the ends of the earth where you can look out to sea to spot pods of porpoises who pass in the over-falls off the rocks. Two and a half miles to the north of St Nicholas are the steep cliffs at Pwll Deri. The subject of a famous Welsh poem in local dialect, it is a wild and dramatic place and great for bird and seal watching. From the cliffs there are amazing views over the ocean and of the Garn Fawr Hillfort behind.

Beautiful, quiet cottage
We enjoyed our stay very much. Everything was very clean and the welcome gift was very thoughtful. The cottage is in a very peaceful setting and we slept well in the comfortable bed. Our hosts were very friendly, making sure we had everything we needed and available if we did need them. We would stay again if we are ever travelling to south Wales.
