The hosts went above and beyond with the many thoughtful extras provided. We immediately felt at home. A sense of the country in a farm cottage, a few minutes drive from town. Would def recommend as an ideal place to stay for a couple. Recommend staying several days to enjoy all the unique Gisborne tourism opportunities. It's surrounded by so many plants that Diane and Andrew planted when they first moved there. When we arrived they asked if we would like any suggestions of where to go and showed us around the property so we wouldn't be lost. We were also greeted with homemade scones, preserves, a bottle of wine and all these other great treats that made us feel right at home. It was, unfortunately raining for a large portion of our trip, but we didn't mind spending time in the cottage and enjoying the hot tub that was there. I had some great conversations with Diane and Andrew and they were just so kind and friendly. The cottage is really comfortable. There is home baked scone, chocolate, cheese, wine, nest cafe capsules, one full bottle of milk, eggs from their hens, washing powder, spa bath, lazy-boy, comfortable bed, beautiful environment, birds, dogs, ships…. When Dianne knew we would go to the local market before we head back to Auckland, she drew a lovely map, and she phoned the local wine maker for us to find out whether he will be in the market. Everything was perfect, we enjoyed being in such a beautiful spot in such a gorgeous garden. Dianna and Andrew were very welcoming and great to have a chat with.
