We have visited many times and love it north to south. Tucked away at the end of a bumpy dirt road is a real gem. Only 7 rooms - ours even had a wood burning stove (yes it did). More oranges than you could eat in a lifetime and so quiet at night you can hear them grow. This location is worthy of your time and is a great value if slow and easy is your mission. Go with the flow here - take a walk - eat an orange - meet a burro - say hello to your partner. Therefore, as expected, it was in the middle of nowhere on dirt roads. It was a beautiful place with orange and olive trees, lovely roses, two pools, and luxurious rooms with a fully-stocked mini-bar. We subsequently altered our plans and stayed another night to have more time to enjoy the hotel since it exceeded our expectations! The hotel as a country house has only 7 rooms, thus it is never overcrowded. There are 3 pools, the staff are friendly and very considerate of its guests. It's as close to a private villa as we have experienced, with the bonus of not needing to cook! The grounds are quite beautiful. Given the proximity to the cromlech circle we had two trips there, one at night when no one else was around, very enjoyable! It is a bit out of the way from the city of Evora, so if you're looking to be close to the city, this isn't your place. That said, it's within walking distance of neolithic ruins, and it's such a beautiful property that you'd be wasting your visit to leave it at all. The sprawling grounds are absolutely gorgeous to wander day or night -- a beautiful place to eat and drink and relax and stargaze.
