"The White Hart is ideally placed at the top of Steep Hill with easy access to the castle and cathedral. There are several restaurants within easy walking distance in addition to the hotel's own a la carte and bar food menus. The shower and other plumbing were excellent which was all the more impressive given the age of the hotel and it's location at such an elevation.
The negative of our stay was the oppressive heat in our room despite the two fans provided. Planning restrictions prevent the installation of air conditioning. We were there during a minor heat wave, (25 / 26 degrees), I feel for those staying in those rooms when the temperature is even higher.
We never ate at the hotel restaurant other than for breakfast which was very good, great fruit selection. The service was a bit disorganised however, there were plenty of staff available but perhaps the kitchen struggled to meet the demand with the facilities available."
