We were there for 1 night for a wedding and it was perfect as it was super close to the town and the main st. We loved the African safari theme, we’ve never seen anything like that! Points faibles : Service et personnel I stayed at African Themed Kooyah on Oct. 12, 2024\. Unfortunately we experienced a voyeur. Our room had a private courtyard, enclosed by corrugated metal walls. My friends and I sat out there to enjoy the late night evening. As we sat there, we began to hear steps and crunching of the leaves on the ground, coming from the other side of the wall. We assumed it was an animal. We continued to hear the noise for about 45 to 50 minutes. It wasn’t until we heard a thump on the metal wall that we decided to go outside of the enclosure and see what exactly was causing the noise. To our surprise, we discovered a man who apparently had been watching us and listening to our conversations. We were only women staying at this cabin. We screamed at him which caused him to run away and disappear into the darkness. We immediately called the Comfort police and the property host. The officers who arrived did what they could and searched the area. Unfortunately, no one was found. At that point, we were shaken up, upset and no longer felt safe. Shortly before midnight, we packed up our belongings and left the premises. The experience completely ruined our weekend. We requested our money be returned but were denied a refund. It is shocking to me that after all we went through, the property management would deny a refund. I post this to inform of my personal experience.
