This light-filled apartment is available for 30-night minimum rentals. The property is located in the Cannonborough-Elliotborough neighborhood, just one block from King Street. This studio is a private hideaway, tucked away from the main street. The patio is spacious with a table for two where you can sit and enjoy your privacy. Please note this unit is handicap inaccessible. The Space: Located at the back of the property, you will go up a small set of stairs before proceeding down another small set of stairs to access the entry and the private outdoor patio. The kitchenette includes a full size fridge, toaster oven, microwave, pots & pans, dinnerware, basic cooking tools, and a stove top with two burners. There is no traditional oven or dishwasher. The private bathroom is right off of the bedroom. There is 1 off-street parking space included. Our parking spaces have a vehicle restriction of 8 feet wide, and 18 feet long. Guest Access: This is a private rental and guests have access to the entire space. The Neighborhood: The property is located in the Cannonborough Elliotborough neighborhood of Downtown Charleston, which is considered the most upcoming area on the peninsula. The neighborhood is perfect for a couple or a group who is looking to fully embrace Charleston's unique charm. Step right outside your door and find a wonderfully curated mix of shops, bars, bakeries, and dining. We recommend grabbing a coffee at Island Provisions before exploring King Street, Charleston's ultimate epicenter of shops and restaurants, which is just one short block from the property. Our guests have a wide selection of walkable dinner options, some of our favorites include Chez Nous, Chubby Fish, Bistronomy by Nico, and Vern's. I’d recommend it! However, we feel that the description needs quite a bit of updating. We have communicated this with the owner already, and they responded with kindness and professionalism, but I’ll outline some of the things we wish we had known prior to booking in case the listing doesn’t get updated. -There is convenient parking, however it is not right outside the unit…it’s at the house next door. So you have to walk through a parking lot, around a house, and then at your car. Had we known this prior, we may have chosen to pack in smaller/lighter bags. We didn’t know we’d be carrying them so far. They do have a YouTube video that shows exactly where your parking is in relation to your unit. I’d suggest asking to view it before booking. -the listing (at the time of this review) says that you just walk down a flight of stairs and arrive at your private unit. You actually walk from your car, down an alley, up a flight of stairs, and then down the stairs to the unit. The stairs are not super even…my mom and I tripped up them 3 times each. We are active and generally coordinated -the bathroom is listed as “petite”, and that is quite generous. The bathroom is TINY. The sink is a half sink, and the stand up shower is much smaller than your standard closet shower. There are no shelves or counter space either. Everything must be kept outside of the bathroom. We personally don’t love that all towels hang over the toilet, but we understand that’s a preference and they’re just doing what they can with the space they have. - the extra sleeping space wasn’t super well defined. It’s a fold down futon and it’s extremely uncomfortable. It is definitely not meant for 2 people. I’m 5’9” and I just fit. I woke up a few times with my feet hanging off the corner. There are several bars that aren’t padded either. They kindly provided a mattress pad when I mentioned this, but it unfortunately didn’t do anything. I slept on a line of pillows to try and help. I’d suggest bringing an air mattress instead. - there really isn’t room to put your stuff. Everything had to be kept in our bags. This could be an easy fix on their part…maybe some hooks scattered and some shelving added. So…I don’t want to discourage anyone from booking. It was clean and in a great location. We were able to walk to pretty much everything. I personally wouldn’t book for 4 people, or if elderly are in your party. ##### Morgan L. When we arrived for check-in, the property was flooded from a storm earlier that morning. The property manager was notified and she quickly accommodated to another room upstairs initially to clean. However, the next morning there was still water underneath the tiles. She then quickly notifed me and provided better accommodations in another property. Though initially frustrated, property manager, in my opinion, did her best to accommodated for a unforeseeable situation. ##### michael v. Having a private patio seems to be a rarity among multi unit spaces so we put it to good use. The directions were made clear in the YouTube video so we didn’t have any trouble finding the unit, however I did find getting my suitcase up and down the steps a bit cumbersome.. so take that in mind. The space was well decorated and very comfortable with everything we needed. I will say though, the bathroom is tiny, so don’t plan on two people getting ready simultaneously. A hanging toiletry bag was helpful to make use of the space. The closet was spacious with room for luggage and we appreciated the provided hangers. All in all, a perfect getaway in a great space!
