In the typical unusual Georgian style, one train car costs 2 Lari, while the other costs 3 Lari - although there appeared to be little difference or reason for the different prices.

"Beautiful new hotel in Bakuriani. Clean large rooms, friendly and helpful staff (excellent English), easy location walkable to many restaurants and shops for snacks if needed. Very nice rooms with great views of the mountain (stayed in #503), parking included. Coffee and water in room was greatly appreciated. "Host (Sukhan) was the best. Always smiling and helpful. Check-in was quick, excellent breakfast. Clean and spacious rooms. We visited Rabati palace, Green Monastry and Bakuriani, Sukhan arranged for our transport and also coordinated with the drivers on our behalf. If you look closely, you'll notice the fire damage at the top of the mountain.  In 2008, there was a brief war between Russia and Georgia over two, long disputed regions in Georgia.

During the course of the war, the Russians launched airstrikes against a supposed military bunker used by the Georgian government in this area.  These bombings accidentally resulted in a large forest fire that burned a significant amount of forest land - and greatly pissed off the Georgian people.
