« The Shady Lawn Inn is a wonderful place to stay. It's in the heart of Newland, NC, a small town with a cool vibe. Shady Lawn Inn was my home for 10 days because of car trouble. Staff Kara (front desk), Maria (housekeeping) and Ms. Suzzanah (owner) were so gracious and helpful and I felt safe. Room was clean, a bit dark, comfortable bed (king) and the ac cools when needed. « The staff was very efficient and helpful. Location, great. Our room was a disappointment. Room was outdated, stuffy, and hadn't been cleaned properly. There were crumbs all over one of nightstands, with lots of little handprints on it. The outside wall with a window had a very large stain on it, which appeared to be patched, but still looked like we were staying at the site of an old crime scene. Also, no comfortable place to sit in lobby area :( »

« This is one of the most charming inns! Yes, it's a bit old and the room a little small, but it's clean and super bright. The bed was incredibly comfortable and we slept like babies being able to open the windows instead of having to endure the noise of the air conditioner like in all places. The front desk staff was very nice and called within a few hours of our arrival to make sure we liked our room and were comfortable. We will absolutely return here!
