"Location is about as perfect as you will find. We looked at wayyy too many hotels before choosing splendid and I’m 100% we picked the right one for us. It’s perfectly walkable to all of the old town restaurants and shops. It’s maybe 8 minutes walk from the train, and it’s 5 minutes walk to all of the green space around the lake. 15-20 min walk to the plague de imperial lake park, which I highly recommend because it’s 4 euros a person which keeps down the volume of people and keeps out most riffraff as well. The staff was really helpful, esp Jacques, as they recommended a couple fantastic restaurants and their knowledge was great of the area. Only downside is parking is shared with a 6 story spiral bunker parking lot that’s public parking as well. The hotel covers the overnight portion and the guest covers the daytime portion, which is surprisingly cheap (10 euros range) but it can be a pain to find a spot in the evening still. Regardless it’s a great hotel, cold A/C and an ideal location"
