"The person at check in counter was on her cellphone the whole time of check in. Couldn't tell who she was talking to most of the time. She also charged for the room a second time even though it had already been paid for online. Not focused on her job too busy carrying on conversation on the cellphone. "

"The first room I was sent to smelled like urine. The front desk staff were very accommodating and placed me in a new room, but there was no apology for the inconvenience or a "We'll have housekeeping check on that right away" kind of reaction. No towels in the fitness room, no water in the cooler. Carpet in my room was not very clean. Bathroom was not very clean. Not sure how this place got such a high rating from guests, but I won't be staying here again. AND I paid $160 for the room - insult to injury."

"Our stay here was peaceful and enjoyable. It was easy to get to, off of a quiet road in a rural area. There are multiple porches for sitting outside and enjoying the beauty of the pond and the woods. It was a wonderful place to spend hours watching and listening to a variety of birds. And when you do want to go inside, there are comfortable amenities. We were able to park in the garage, which we were thankful for during a storm. The host was helpful and easy to communicate with. This is a great place to spend some time relaxing."

"We had an excellent experience with the property, the hosts and the charming town of Ste. Genevieve. Communication with the host was prompt and clear, from the check-in process through the (very easy!) departure. The property was clean and excellently appointed, and I will say most of the rooms are actually a bit larger than they appear on the listing, which was a nice surprise. And as most of the other reviews indicate, it truly is in the heart of town, with everything--coffee, food, drinks, museums & shopping all a short walk away. To us, however, the best part was how responsive our hosts--Jayne and Dustin--were throughout our stay. We had an issue with the AC the first night, made them aware the next morning, and by the time we got back from lunch, the AC guy (along with Dustin) was there getting everything back in ship-shape for a cool and comfortable stay! Check-out was a breeze: leave the garbage in the kitchen trash, start the dishwasher and lock the door. That's it! No schlepping garbage to the local dump, no unmaking the bed or washing of linens. A small thing, but truly appreciated. We'd highly recommend considering this lovely little home for anyone visiting Ste. Genevieve and the surrounding area."
