This beautiful, 12 foot yurt was lovingly hand crafted by Littlefoot Yurts in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, and sits on a 16x20 platform roughly 4 feet high, on the edge of Urquhart's Pond.
Inside, you'll find a comfy futon, a satellite chair, and a storage area full of all your essentials. There is nothing better than lying back and seeing the beautiful skies above you through the window at the crown of the yurt.
Even if the weather isn't great, you'll be cozy.
In addition to the awesome yurt, this secluded spot has a gorgeous deck platform overlooking the pond, a fire pit, and a picnic table.
There is no electricity or running water at the yurt site, but we provide drinkable water, and there is an outhouse tucked in to the woods nearby, and you are more than welcome to use the washroom, shower, and charging stations located at the boathouse only a few hundred meters from the yurt.
Although we don't recommend swimming in Urquhart's Pond (it's quite shallow and boggy - much better for canoeing and kayaking), you are only about a seven minute walk from our beautiful beach with access to both fresh AND salt water swimming... and hundreds of metres of private access beach .
While you stay with us, the property is yours to explore. Hike through the woods, walk to the beach or rent a canoe, kayak, or paddle board.
Please note, there are no pets allowed on this site, and absolutely no smoking in the yurt.
If you are a guest any mobility or health issues, please be aware that the path to the yurt is uneven and the yurt is on a platform which requires you to walk up a few stairs. Also, the entrance requires you to bend over to enter.
In order to reduce wear and tear on our roads, and reduce noise pollution, when you arrive, we will drive you (and your gear) the half kilometre to the yurt site in our electric cart. And when you're ready to go, we can pick you up and bring you back to your vehicle.
