Staycation in New 1-Bedroom Condo, Japantown
Welcome to Powell St, your ideal staycation in Vancouver's historic Japantown. This pet-friendly unit offers a functional kitchen, wellness retreat-ready bedroom, and cozy living room and dining area to host guests. Just a walk to Railtown and Gastown, making it perfect for digital nomads, city breaks, or weekend escapes. Ideal for long-term business stays.
Note: Located in an area with diverse income levels and lifestyles. By booking, you acknowledge this may not be suitable for everyone.
Covering 816 sqft, this apartment embodies the Japandi design philosophy, blending minimalist elegance with warmth. The space is thoughtfully segmented into zones for sleep, ideal for a wellness retreat, eating, lounging perfect for a family getaway, entertainment, and focus, making it a conducive remote work stay. Each zone is crafted to harmonize with your daily rhythm, offering a pet-friendly stay and serving as a convenient digital nomad lodging. Our units are located on the third floor, and we do not have an elevator on the property. We kindly ask that guests are comfortable with stairs during their stay. Thank you for your understanding.
Enjoy complete access to this digital nomad-friendly lodging, including the kitchen, bedroom ideal for a wellness retreat, living room suitable for a family getaway, and bathroom. Streamline your stay with our advanced ButterflyMX intercom system. Your unique visitor pass ensures secure, automated entry for hassle-free check-ins and check-outs. The system also accommodates guest-approved timed access and food deliveries, making your stay both simple and secure, ideal for long-term business accommodations.
There's 24/7 security along with manager support both on and off-site for any issues or concerns, ensuring a secure and hassle-free stay. Whether it's adjusting thermostat settings or recommending local grocery stores to enhance your city break, we're just a call or message away to optimize your stay.
Situated east of Gastown and north of Chinatown, this area was once Vancouver's vibrant Japantown. Post-World War II, it lost its ethnic identity due to property seizures. Now commonly known as Railtown, it's a nod to its industrial heritage and future potential.
Strategically close to Vancouver’s Central Business District and other urban hubs like Gastown and Chinatown, Railtown is a lifestyle-rich zone blending cultural heritage with modern flair—ideal for a dynamic workforce.
Neighborhood Disclaimer
What to Expect:
Similar to other major North American cities, Vancouver contends with social challenges such as homelessness and substance abuse. Despite this, the general area is largely considered safe. It should be noted that the issues concentrated on Hastings Street are considerably distant from our current location; however, the building itself is situated next to social housing designated for low-income individuals. Although the vicinity is not inherently hazardous, there is visible substance use in the adjacent park, at the end of the nearby alleyway with occasional encampments set up across the street on Powell (which the building is located on). Because we are located beside social housing buildings, guests may be in direct line-of-sight to open drug use and homelessness. Such sights may be discerning for those unacquainted with these scenarios. If this is a concern or if the area is too active for your liking, alternative locations may be more suitable.
Our building is situated in a more developed part of the area near downtown, home to middle to high-income residents and amenities. Down the street, you'll find the Michelin-starred restaurant St. Lawrence and The Mackenzie Room, which received Michelin honorable mentions. For a comprehensive list of upscale amenities in our area, please refer to our guidebook.
Please note that the unit is street-facing, and while our vibrant neighborhood offers a lively atmosphere, some outside noise from the street may be noticeable, especially during busy hours. We encourage guests to keep this in mind and enjoy the charm and energy of our location. Thank you for your understanding!
Guest Responsibility:
By booking, you acknowledge you've read this disclaimer. We recommend conducting your own research to ensure the environment aligns with your comfort and expectations, especially if you're considering long-term business accommodations. Additionally, if you choose to park on the street, please be aware that the host is not liable for any damages to, theft from, or theft of your vehicle.
Located in the lively Strathcona neighborhood, 382 Powell Street has a Walk Score of 92, making it a 'Walker's Paradise.' Ideal for a city break or weekend escape, you can leave the car behind as daily errands are just a walk away. A 17-minute stroll links you to the Expo Line at Stadium-Chinatown Station, offering convenient digital nomad lodging with Vancouver's world-class transit system at your disposal.
