"Very poorly maintained property. I wouldn’t recommend. HVAC didn’t work. Bathroom was gross. Ice makers were on most floors but only a few worked"

"Bar/ restaurant not open Sunday and Monday. No breakfast or lunch options. No coffee maker in the room. Rooms need maintenance. Shades broke. Hairdryer was horrible. We asked for a new one 2 days in a row. Never received one."

"Having a minifridge would have made a huge difference. Otherwise, the room was fine. Good stay overall. "

"The Empire is my favorite hotel in New York. It's a grand dame, so not new and spiffy, but the rooms are well-maintained and I find the bedding terric. In New York, the Empire is a bargain, but it's so much more. The location is outstanding at Lincoln Center surrounded by restaurants and cultural institutions, and it's on the #1 subway. Taxis and Ubers also very easily available. I don't worry about not having a coffee maker in the room. There is a Starbucks a few steps from the front door; a great bakery (Breads) across the street (Broadway), and additional options up and down Broadway. People, you're in New York! I love the free bottles of water. Pasquale at the front desk has been especially kind, but all the front desk staff and doormen seem extremely helpful."

"I had no problem with my stay other than the fact that at any given time only half or fewer of the elevators were in working order, so there was often a large bottleneck of people waiting to get onto one of the working elevators. At one point I had to wait 20 minutes to finally get up to my room to grab something, and another 15 minutes to get back down. Inefficient and frustrating."

"The room was surprisingly clean expect for the random pink dots on the ceiling above the bed. The bathroom shower definitely had some mold or mildew. The elevator, the hallways were filthy. The hotel does have free parking but the lot is shared with the laundromat so it can get a little busy. Would not stay here again and would not recommend."
