Unfortunately there was a couple of smoke detectors that kept beeping all night throughout the hotel. They do offer an included friendly breakfast at a nearby hotel restaurant. "

"The advantage was that the hotel is within walking distance of the main bus terminal and close to a tram stop. The shower also had amply supply of hot water. But the staff could use with better training in customer service. You should not have to wait several minutes when you arrive at 5:30 pm for someone to open up the door to check you in. The staff also had trouble finding my reservation once I did check in. "

![There is a relatively hidden gem high in the mountains of Cuenca, Ecuador called Mirador Del Turi, accessible by rental car or bus. During our trip in April, we found the most fun adult do-it-yourself play park with this makeshift lawn chair swing! For $5 they strap you in and release you to soar high above Cuenca's city to see what it feels like to be a bird. The great thing about Ecuador is that they use US dollars, so no exchange necessary!

"The building is a beautiful and charming example of colonial Spanish architecture, complete with two enclosed "courtyards". The complimentary breakfast included eggs with choice of veggies and preparation, yogurt with copious fresh fruit and granola, a selection of fresh breads, fresh squeezed fruit juice, and choice of delicious coffee or hot chocolate. The staff members were very friendly and helpful; most spoke English, all spoke Spanish. The location was within several minutes walking distance of the center of the Historic District (restaurants, cathedrals, museums, markets).Our room was small but we managed nicely with creative use of the closet, bedside tables, and bathroom storage. "

"Great location and can not say enough positives about the staff. Because it is a little dated, there has been a little setting causing all the doors to the rooms to bind and therefore, very noisy. Easy solution is to take the doors off the hinges and sand them down so they close easily without force. "Our stay was disappointing due to poor professionalism and lack of basic customer service. Staff were not courteous and often appeared annoyed when we made simple requests. We had to repeatedly ask for pillows, and it took five days to receive a working safe. Basic amenities should not require constant follow-up.The jacuzzi takes about 30 minutes to warm up, yet management never informed us. Staff refused to turn it on in advance and would only activate it if we were standing right next to it, making it inconvenient to use.We also observed staff engaging in personal displays of affection in guest areas, which felt inappropriate and unprofessional.Overall, the service was below standard and needs serious improvement. Nuestra estancia fue decepcionante. El personal no era cortés y a menudo parecía molesto cuando hacíamos peticiones simples. Tuvimos que pedir almohadas repetidamente, y tardaron 5 días en darnos una caja fuerte que funcionaba. Las comodidades básicas no deberían requerir un seguimiento constante. El jacuzzi tarda unos 30 minutos en calentarse, pero la gerencia nunca nos informó. El personal se negó a encenderlo por adelantado y solo lo activaría si estábamos parados justo al lado, lo que dificultaba su uso.También observamos al personal participando en muestras personales de afecto en las áreas de invitados, lo que se sintió inapropiado y poco profesional.
