« This is such a nice place!! Quiet and private, in excellent condition, and extra luxurious with the treetop sauna. It’s lovely for a winter stay on the lake and a hop skip to the Bluefin spa and so many other great spots. »

« Family winter getaway. Spectacular views and great location on the upper part of the north shore. Loft is really great with bunk beds having limited room and access to the top bunk. Was a tight fit for our teenagers. Be prepared for morning sun in addition to moonlight. Special place in a special location. »

« Our family of 8 were up to ski at Lutsen and this place was a great accommodation for us. Everyone had a bed to sleep on, there was ample space for everyone to lounge around in and they supplied a great amount of cookware so we could make our breakfasts and dinners (pots, skillets, baking sheets/pans, etc). We would definitely stay here again! »

« Absolutely wonderful stay in Lutsen. Modern Scandinavian design that was truly so cozy and inviting. Kitchen and living space were perfect for our group to relax, cook. Large windows made you feel like we were really part of the beautiful birch and pine forest, wildflowers blooming. Two bathrooms was so helpful with little kiddos and adults running around. Beds were super comfortable. Only complaint we had was the AC Minisplit was up in the loft which didn’t circulate very well to the enclosed...

« What a perfect setting in the woods and close to everything ie. Lutsen and Grand Marais. A few initial small glitches; however, Mr. Smothers was MORE than accommodating especially given it was Thanksgiving day. Pool was closed; however, the public pool in Grand Marais was open. A setting were several quiet walks with family was very relaxing and therapeutic! I HIGHLY recommend THE HIBERNATION HOUSE! »

« We had an excellent stay here. The cabin is well designed, great space for a large group, with lots of sleeping options and nice views of the woods. Everything was clean and well stocked, lots of towels for the sauna, and quality cookware in the kitchen. The dining table was huge and great for board games. We got a really nice rate that was super reasonable for our visit too. I’d definitely book these again in the winter to enjoy the sauna to its fullest. »
