Booked a business suite room; rather spacious layout with a living room, long corridor with a washroom and master bedroom. Furnishings are a bit old styled. Totally non existent window view due to the nearby building beside. Super comfy bed and pillows similar to Sheratons.
"Good value hotel in Taipei near Raohe Night Market"
This was a simple, no-frills hotel. The beds are pretty firm (hard), just like the locals like them. The rest of the room was actually very clean and updated, despite this being a typical "love hotel" (with hourly rates). It's about the best value you can get for your money in Taipei--comparable with any online homestays. It is located in east-central Taipei, very near the Raohe night market and across the street from the entrance to the Songshan MRT station (end of the green line).
First time in Taiwan. Chose this hotel because of its central city location and close proximity to all the necessary amenities (i.e. MRT, conveience stores, shopping places, eateries etc etc) MRT station (Nanjing Fuxing station) is just 2 mins walk away. The MRT station is a good way to explore Taipei if you aint too keen to spend much on their taxis (although their public transport is relatively inexpensive). Hotel room keycard also serves as MRT card with existing credits in it so you dont have to worry about buying train tickets everytime. It is always a good way to experience the local culture. Dont expect shopping at the night markets to be as cheap as other places like Bangkok but it is still ok. Taiwanese are generally nice and very polite people. Hotel is recommended by Trip Advisor, hence we had certain expectations of it and we werent disappointed. Room was clean and well equipped. Free wifi within hotel and also provided Wifi dongle for you to access internet when you are out. Only drawback was the breakfast and cocktail selection. Needs improvement for a 5 star rating. on some days it was drizzling and the outdoor tables and chairs were wet, the staff on duty could have dry them up so that guest can sit outside if they wanted to. Otherwise, this is a pretty decent hotel i would recommend if you are staying in Taipei.
