Beach Getaway
The property is in a perfect location, close to the beach, St. Armands, and shopping. When we arrived, they had forgotten to clean the house. We waited on the patio while they did a very quick cleaning, which didn't get everything but did get the beds made and towels clean. They did give us a 40 credit for the inconvenience. Also, despite the advertisement, there was no ice maker. This is something I always take into consideration as we go through a lot of ice. We had to buy it instead, but there are a few ice trays.The heated pool was freezing, and this is when we learned that you have to request to have the temperature adjusted in both the house and pool. You can not adjust it yourself. After many messages, the pool temp was finally adjusted enough so we could use it. I do not believe they have a regular pool service to maintain the pool. When I asked when the pool person was coming to vacuum the pool, someone showed up 2 days later to "give an estimate." He came back and skimmed the pool and added some chemicals, but did not vacuum it.There are several screens that are ripped. This most likely led to the the mice we saw on the patio. One was on the small side, and the other one was very large. It climbed into the bar and we could hear it often. It was obvious they had been there awhile as you could see the droppings and path along the wall.
