"I had such a lovely stay with Manuel and Sigrid! A B&B style property and their home, I joined them for dinner that evening too. My French is stumbling but between that and Google translate we had a very nice evening and the food was great. I arrived on my motorcycle and Manuel organised secure garaged parking for me. Apparently they often host cyclists and bikers and were very welcoming. So a lovely air-conditioned room, lovely hosts and great food. Recommended!"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Saint-Feliu-D'Amont?
The best area to stay in Saint-Feliu-D'Amont is within the village itself, which offers a central and convenient base for exploring.

This small village is located in the PyrƩnƩes-Orientales department, providing a quiet, rural setting with easy access to the surrounding natural beauty. The village centre is quite compact, with its local church, Mairie (town hall), and a few small shops and cafes along its main thoroughfares. It's an ideal spot for those who appreciate a peaceful environment while still being connected.

For couples looking for a relaxed escape, staying in the village is perfect. You're well-placed for scenic drives through the TĆŖt Valley or day trips to the Mediterranean coast, which is about a 45-minute drive away. The local vineyards are also easily accessible for wine tasting experiences.

Families travelling with children will also find the village a good option. The slower pace of life and the ability to easily reach outdoor activities like hiking in the nearby mountains or visiting the animal park in Casteil makes it practical.
When is the best time to go to Saint-Feliu-D'Amont?
The best time to visit Saint-Feliu-D'Amont is typically from late spring to early autumn, specifically from May to September. This period offers the most pleasant weather for exploring the region.

May and June are lovely months, with warm temperatures and fewer crowds. The countryside is green and lush, superb for outdoor activities like hiking or cycling through the vineyards. You'll find the local markets bustling with fresh produce, and it's a great time to experience the start of the summer season without the peak heat.

July and August are the warmest and sunniest months, ideal for enjoying the Mediterranean climate. This is peak season, so expect more visitors, especially at popular coastal spots which are a short drive away. It's an excellent time for those who want to combine village life with trips to the beach or watersports on nearby lakes.

September is also a fantastic choice, as the weather remains warm and sunny but the summer crowds begin to thin out. This is the harvest season for grapes, so it's a particularly interesting time for wine enthusiasts to visit local vineyards and experience the 'vendanges'.
