After driving across Croatia staying at small hotels in historic districts, Monte Mulini was a nice change. This modern hotel sits on a quiet, private bay only a short walk to the historic town of Rovinj. We enjoyed using the sauna and steam room in the spa. Very relaxing break to a hectic driving vacation. We plan to return some day and stay longer.
We found this a perfect hotel for our stay in Rovinj, a short walk to the Old town or Golden Cape park forest. The staff were friendly and helpful the food varied and plentiful in short a great 3 star hotel.

All five of us travelers to Croatia found this to be the best hotel we stayed in. Modern, convenient, reasonable cost, great staff, and wonderful breakfast. Dinner at the hotel was one of the best on our trip. Some may not like the glass-walled bath but it didn't bother us a whit.
The hotel looked classic on the outside and wonderfully trendy on the inside. The rooms were great, the TV, blinds, shower, bath, bed, were all outstanding. The restaurant was the best we found in town. The hotel is remeniscent of a W hotel in the states. As usual, a little bit of form over function, but we think that's fine. It was recently remodeled, and they need to correct a few details, but overall we loved the hotel. Best we had in Croatia.

Very helpful reception staff, clean and comfortable rooms. Lots to do with children. Having a car for a couple of days would be useful, if you want to explore more, otherwise difficult to get from town to town. Rovinj is stunning. Boat to island very reliable and scenery around hotel Istra beautiful. Food cooked fresh.

The hotel is lovely. We had a terrace overlooking the water. The grounds are natural with sea gulls and pines. There is no air conditioning, but we never missed it during a stay of sunny days. We enjoyed fine breakfasts but chose not to dine at the hotel restaurant.
We would return.
We had apartment #17 in the yellow group - it was said to be an upgraded apartment - I think everyone was getting an upgraded apartment from what I heard. I actually thought we were staying in a hotel, so to have an apartment was a "Plus". Comfortable bed, TV in both the bedroom and living room, great patio at our entry way, clean bathroom and well appointed kitchen - great! The only downsides were these: (1) they did not explain that we had a parking spot (which we parked in but when we left for the day, it was taken when we returned, so we had to find another, still not sure if it was a dedicated space to our apartment - would make sense that it was - it was numbered and colored for our apartment); and (2) there was no internet available at our apartment - I was told that we had to access the internet at the reception area (which many people were doing) if we wanted the internet. I chose to wait until our next stop on our trip - which had free internet from our room. Great breakfast included in our package. Loved walking on the pebbly beach and watching the waves, and there was a trail that we walked one day. We ate at one of the restaurants, and it was very good.

Often considered Istria’s prettiest town, Rovinj was originally an island, which was fortified and joined to the mainland in the Middle Ages. Pastel-coloured Venetian-style buildings line the fishing harbour, overlooked by the hilltop Church of St Euphemia. Chic waterside bars serve cocktails while eateries dish up seafood and the region’s delicacy, truffles. South along the coast, Zlatni Rat offers pinewoods and secluded coves for bathing.
