"We stayed in 2 rooms. One was in very good condition, the other was slightly run down. Both were clean. The staff members were helpful and polite. Breakfast was more than we expected. Amenities were great - both in terms of appliances and toiletries."

"This location is beautiful. Very quiet and peaceful. The view is amazing. The restaurant is excellent. We ate dinner and breakfast and really enjoyed both. We had a king room with a porch. Very clean and the bed was quite comfortable. The bathroom is quite small but very clean. My only negative was the very strong smell of bleach from the bathroom. Appreciate the clean but the odor was a lot."

"The location is unmatched. Right on the bay, the views were spectacular. The problem comes with the cleanliness and upkeep of the place. Our room was ready when we arrived by they forced us to wait until the dot of check-in time to access it. When we went inside our room, it was obvious the room had been sitting dormant for a while. Two wine glasses were sitting on the floor by a table with caked-on dried wine. On walks around the property, it was obvious some amenity locations were in need of refurbishment but they weren't high-use places so it didn't seem like the staff cared. Overall, you can't beat the location. At one time it was probably the crown jewel of Boothbay but they also appear to be resting on their laurels a bit. I would probably return, but with a bit lower expectations. You're booking it for the views and location."
