"Nice, next to plains of abraham and old quebec"
The star actor in our stay was the concierge; Michel Biron. He was so helpful and shared many of the Quebec secret goodies with us. He made the difference between just a stay and a fantastic stay.

"Quebec city/Mont Sainte Anne ski trip"
The hotel can't be beaten in terms of location, right in the heart of Old Quebec City and right next the Chateau Frontenac. We came primarily to ski and used the ski bus that picked up and dropped off at the Chateau, perfect. It is only short walk from the hotel to all Quebec has on offer for eating and drinking, and is a perfect setting opposite the river. We were very happy to be upgraded because we stayed 7 nights, but the room was still on the small side, it's an old building and one must respect that. The room was warm, clean and quiet and despite the experiences of others our water was always nice and hot. My only complaint was the renovation work that was underway during our stay, it was like eating breakfast on a building site and no explanation was offered. It would not put me off staying again, however, the staff were helpful and friendly and the hotel had everything we needed.

"Nice hotel right in lower town"
Only downside to this hotel: no minibar, no room service (although they will accommodate you from the restaurant). The machines at the gym are ancient and don't work. Other than that, very nice hotel for long stays.

I enjoyed my experience with the following exceptions: -the bathroom was very very small and difficult to move around in. -the room was clean, compact but dark even with the curtains open. -had to lug my suitcase down 4 steps on the fourth floor on arrival and then up the same steps on leaving. Being a senior this is not always that easy. -not given any explanation of the hotel's services only to find that after expressing my surprise at the lack of information in the room, everything is found through the television.
