"It was a last minute booking for just one night because we were meeting friend for dinner and didn't want to drive back to Tokyo. We weren't expecting much because it was cheap but we're pleasantly surprised!
The decor is trendy and welcoming. The service from the young guy working there was very warm and welcoming too. It felt like we were catching up with an old friend we haven't seen in a while :)
The room is small (as expected for a hostel and the price) but it was very cute with restored...
"This is function more like BnB than an actual hotel. The check in was confusing, staff were non existence, there is only one bus line that run every 30min, and completely stop about 8pm. The sidewalk is narrow and share the same road as cars, it's especially dangerous at home with limited views. There are no diner nearby and everything closes at around 6pm. "

"Incredibly kind staff who even helped shuttle our suitcases to and from the nearby station. A fantastic experience! 10/10"
"Overall the hotel was very clean and comfortable.
Good access from the train station. A variety of restaurants close by.
It would be perfect if there is a direct access bridge between the car park and the lobby."

"Excellent customer service, good food, nice French and Japanese meals provided daily during stay. Hotel is dated and need some facelift. Love the 3 on-site Onsens, saw an amazing sunrise on last day at hotel. Would come back to Hotel New Akao if going to Atami again. "
"Right from the beginning, the staff was very helpful! Whether it was with transportation requests or restaurant recommendations for take-out, the person at the front desk looked at multiple options and worked with us until a solution was found. "
