![St Mary's Church, Acton This fine church dominates the village of Acton. Its tower is said to be the oldest in Cheshire and dates from 1180 however much of it was rebuilt after a storm in March 1757. The church was used as a headquarters for Royalist Troops during the Civil War battle on or about the 25th of January 1644. "Second stay here. This time check-in was slick and efficient; last time it was slow. When you are arriving at midnight after a long and delayed journey, the last thing you want is to fill in a form with the same details that should already have been transmitted by Hotel.com / Expedia. For me the price / quality is reasonable compared to other hotels in the immediate vicinity. However I still find the breakfast expensive and with no option to choose just the continental option at a more reasonable price. "
