"Great stopover seconds from the Trans-Canada hwy"
Was travelling along highway and found this motel online. I wasn't sure what to expect. The couple who own the place were lovely. The room was clean and had the basics. Very convenient from the highway so it was easy to get up and out for the next leg of my journey.

"Great experience"
Spent a long weekend in Montreal and found the hotel through Expedia's VIP+ selection. The staff was friendly and responsive. The hotel was modern and everything felt like it was new. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and provided a good night's sleep. The climate control kept the room cool and comfortable despite the hot whether outside. The massive bathroom with a full size soaking tub was impressive. The location of the hotel was perfect for anyone looking to explore the city - everything is in walking distance and conveniently located just 1 block away from a comedy festival that was taking place over the weekend. Plenty of cafes, restaurants and shopping close by. I will definitely use this hotel again during my next visit to Montreal.

"Great Location in the Old Port of Montreal."
Recently travelled to Quebec for stays in Montreal and Old Quebec City.On our return to Montreal we stayed at the Auberge de la Place Royale in the Old Port of Montreal and absolutely loved it.If you're looking for all the modern amenities, best look for a hotel near the city centre but if you're looking for the old and quaint, this could fit in your plans. There are two hotels in the area with Auberge in the name so you have to be sure which you're looking for. This one is at 15 Rue de la Commune.I had originally booked a Queen Suite and when we arrived, found out we had been booked in to what turned out to be the largest suite in the building. It was the size of a small apartment and lacked only a stove that would have made it one. There is only about 12 rooms in the whole building and all we saw had their own charm. Now remember, this is the original area of Montreal and the whole area is old and historical. Our room was on the top floor with a wonderful view of the Port of Montreal across the street. The only drawback for some would be that there is no elevator so packing your bags up the stairs might distress some. But the building is only four floors so it wasn't a bother at all. It's a family run hotel and no real front desk to speak of but the small staff are very helpful.Your keys to the room are in the door of your suite with your name on a chalkboard welcoming you to your room. You're given a code for the front door in case it's in the off hours of the staff being there.

"Small, cozy and convenient downtown hotel "
Nice stay in beautiful Montreal. Visited some of the main attractions, Olympic village, Old Montreal, Quebec City, downtown restaurants and shopping. Very European flavor with French cultural heritage. Rented a car for a portion of the time, but also utilized the Metro and did a good bit of walking. A tremendous amount of construction during our visit which made driving a minor challenge, but still an incredible city. Rich in history, Quebec City is a must, but a lengthy road trip from Montreal. French, European cuisine - excellent. Hotel staff were super.

"Hotel Bonaparte_Montreal"
Hotel Bonaparte was my 2nd choice since Fairmont Queen Elizabeth was closing for renovations. While the Fairmont was shabby, it has class and history. Hotel Bonaparte does not. It is clean, updated and centrally located which make a good hotel. Nothing about it stood out, not even the "rooftop pool" and garden. The pool was overcrowded, mostly with drunks and not nearly large enough or with enough seating for the many at hotel. The garden was nothing more than lots of greenery and some flagstone walkways full of bugs. Employees were polite but not friendly. Had to wait several times to talk with a concierge and frankly the guy at information booth in the underground shopping gave me far better directions than the hotel. My room was clean and comfortable but generic. It had all the basics of a lower price hotel except with better mattresses. Would I stay here again? Yes, probably because of the location. It is within walking distance to old Montreal and right over top of underground shopping which made it perfect for my two night stay. Could I have found a hotel just as good but cheaper? Also a yes if I wanted to take metro or cab around. Mostly depends on what your looking for. I did not even go into the restaurant there. After looking at the menu and then passing it numerous times where it appeared almost empty we opted to eat out. The prices were high and the menu light. My grandaughter wanted pizza and again thanks to info at shopping found restaurant Mozza...awesome.

"Comfortable and great value"
My son and i took an impromptu trip to Montreal. The hotel was modern and clean. It is only 4 blocks from Ste. Catherine St and 3 from the Old Port. Would definitely stay there again.
