The person at the reception was very helpful. We had two rooms and a baby and on his own he mentioned that since one of the rooms wasn't booked the following night, we could checkout late if we wanted. This was very helpful. At night, the winds raged, the rooms seemed as if they were about the blow away, it was quite thrilling. The location was great -- right opposite the driveway for the hotel is the Monteverde Cloud Preserve admissions office (where they will issue vouchers for you). The staff where great always asking if I needed anything and where friendly to talk to. The free breakfast is good and they are very quick to serve you. The free wifi was good although it is only accessible in areas near the restaurant and reception but it's free so what can you expect. One thing that wasn't great was the showers as there never seemed to be any hot water, but I managed and it began to be quite refreshing. The Americn/Spanish speaking owner? served free drinks, but wasn't keen to rustle up any food , instead telling us there were eateries, close by which we never found. We went to bed hungry. At breakfast the young servers didn't have a clue about service, just placing food on the table whether we wanted it or not.
