"The hotel was one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in! The valet staff is a little pushy when you first arrive, they basically take all your stuff out of your car without any direction but otherwise they were nice. The check in process was the quickest ever! It took like 20 seconds. We were so happy to be there for sure. When our reservation at another restaurant fell threw we were going to eat downstairs in the on site restaurant however I was annoyed that the menu was basically expensive snacks. We ended up leaving. Overall i am happy with the decorations throughout the hotel, it was fun"

"Need to clean better…Tables, windowsills & floors. Kitchen, bathroom & bedroom were pretty clean."

"Sheets on one bed had two brown streaks the other bed had makeup on sheets one pillow case had hair on it and another pillow was all wrinkly like someone had used it The toilet should be replaced it’s flushes slow and fills with water before flush happens poor design of toilet not plugged Ac unit would not turn off loud ALL night"

"Loved my stay! We stayed for a concert at ford field and loved the available shuttle so we didn’t have to struggle with traffic and parking!"

"There's so much to like about the place, starting right at check-in, which was brief. As we were ready to go upstairs we were offered a bottle of water, or a glass of champagne. Champagne, of course! Nice touch. Walking into the room was a delight. There were seven big, clean windows with shades controlled by switches on the wall. So cool. The view up and down Woodward was big-city dramatic and glamorous, especially at night through all that clean glass. The room was very large. There was a king-size bed with lots of room around it, a desk with a short divider that defined the seating area beyond that turned the large room into something of a suite. The long couch was complete with a soft afghan, and an upholstered chair facing a large flat panel TV which had external bookshelf-style speakers perched on the cabinet below. In front of the couch was a large upholstered ottoman for sitting or for stretching out your legs as you watched TV. The toilet had its own little room, leaving the bath tub and shower a few steps away in their own tiled space. The shower had a ceiling-mounted disk that dispensed rain nicely, as well as a hand-held wand that sent its stream out with good pressure. There's no shower curtain, just plenty of room. We enjoyed everything about our stay at the Shinola. It's by far the nicest and coolest place we've ever been to."

"The toilet was not working when we arrived. They don't have maintenance onsite, therefore it took a day to have the issue resolved. The pullout couch is horrible. It was thin and slanted, making it impossible to sleep on. If you have more than two people, plan on at least bringing an air mattress. The location is conveniently located to main attractions. "
