"Luxury and excellent service but lack aircondition"
Very impressive grounds and friendly and excellent service. Great facilities and good food. However no aircondition bedrooms are let down on hot summer nights. Fans are not good enough to ensure comfortable ambience

"Nice hotel with a period feel "
Nice hotel, pleasant surroundings and the staff were very courteous and efficient. We dined in on a Friday night and the food was very tasty, fine dining-esque.

"Great Hotel, Location and Staff, Breakfast"
This hotel met or exceeded every expectation. Although when we booked we booked a Double and 2 singles and we were given a double and single we enjoyed the room and nice staff. The view of the Thames was lovely and we would definitely stay again.

"Overall, ok, with some "buts"...."
The staff were lovely and very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were plentiful and decently cooked. The room was clean and well maintained. And now for the 'buts': The room layout was odd. As soon as you walked in there was a shower cubicle, separate from the rest of the bathroom. That I was fine with. What was not so fine was that the shower door opened away from the towel rail - with a bit of thought, hinged the other way, it wouldn't have been necessary to strain, and drip water over the carpet, to reach the towel. 'But' no2, there were no hooks at all in the bathroom to hang even a hand towel on, so once hands or face were washed, you then needed to walk a good few paces into the (carpeted) room to get to the towel rail. I realise these are small things, but both could have been remedied with very little effort when the rooms were last refurbished. Last 'but', the mattress was incredibly soft, so every time my husband moved in the night, I woke up (I am a light sleeper anyway, I do admit, but I'm not disturbed by his movements usually).

"Staying close to Heathrow Airport"
My wife and I had an early morning flight to Los Angeles from Heathrow. We were in France and had to ar5rive in England the day before the flight. Rather than taking the long and expensive cab ride into London we chose to stay near the Heathrow Airport but wanted to get away from the hotels right at the airport. We chose Fredericks because it was close but we still had a setting that was in the English countryside and not at the sterile airport. The hotel was on the outskirts of Maidenhead, not a particularly pretty town, but the room was nice, the dinner very good and it was only 20 minutes from the airport.
