"We recently spent 3 days at Ko’a Kea Resort in Kauai and was disappointed with the experience. The property looked much older and smaller than it appears online, and the “ocean view” room was quite far from the water. The pool area was very small, with not enough chairs for guests—we had to place towels on the ground to sit. Additionally, the pool bar was out of service one of the three days of our stay. When I raised concerns about the room not matching the photos, no meaningful solution or compensation was offered. I still had a wonderful trip overall, but the hotel was not a highlight. The one standout was the restaurant Red Salt, which was excellent."

"We had a great stay in the deluxe ocean view room. Spectacular views, great beach to swim at. The restaurants were really good too, we just were bummed we couldn’t get room service the night we arrived. Other than that, amazing food at lava and rum fire. Coffee shop onsite was great too. Already planning or next trip"

"We had a great 2 night stay, the hotel is in a great location and walking distance to the beach where the turtles hang out. The accommodation was quite dated but it was clean and very spacious and did the job."

"There were 12 of us, aged 2-75 and we couldn’t have asked for more perfect accommodations! Having a separate little cottage for the grandparents was ideal! The yard and pool are like an oasis and so very private. It rained a lot while we were there, but we were able to play games and gather in the beautiful living area. It was a short walk to the beach, and there was everything we needed to bring down there-chairs, sand toys, etc. The house manager Rocco was very responsive and helpful. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!"

"Great property overall, though there are some things that are starting to show some wear. The grill is a low-end model and is missing half its heat deflectors, so it does not grill evenly at all unfortunately. And, numerous windows either do not fully shut or do not properly open. Finally, most similar properties I've stayed at often will stock or maintain a small pantry of a couple shelves of very basic condiments and spices that are either provided or carried forward from other guests (provided sanitary and unexpired of course). Not the case with this property, so even little things that would never be used up in a week will need to be purchased at the store. Overall, would stay again as it's a great location and a good layout for two families with young kids. Though, the grill needs to be repaired or simply upgraded. "
