Great hotel right in the heart of Madrid

Posted 16-Apr-2016
Pros: The staff, the location and the quality of the room for the price
Cons: Significantly reduce the price of breakfast and market more of the hotel's main facilities and local locations rather than only telling about El Trapo
Location: Fab location that is great for local bars and restaurants plus the main tourist attractions and the metro
Friendly welcome and comfortable facilities made this a very enjoyable stay located at the centre of Gran Via and very convenient for all the main sights

Great location, friendly staff

Posted 12-Apr-2016
Pros: Room and bathroom size, friendly staff, and location.
Cons: Breakfast and English channels on TV.
Location: This was on the main street Gran Via and close to a number of popular attractions all within 20-30 minute walking distance.
We stayed for 3 nights sun to tue and were pleased to find our room to be of decent size to accommodate 2 adults and 2 kids 12 and 9 years. Main bed was very comfortable but the extra bed and the sofa bed were not easy to sleep on. I found the mattress for the extra bed very hard. We were on the main street side of the hotel but were not bothered by any road noise at all. Coffee machine was present but a kettle would have been better. The best bit of the room was the spacious bathroom with 2 sinks, toilet and a bidet and full size bath and a separate shower enclosure. The bathroom was well stocked with all the necessary toiletries. Bathrobes and slippers were a pleasant surprise. There was also a hot towel rail so the towels could be easily re used next day as they would be totally dry. The staff is very friendly indeed and smiles seem genuine and most of them spoke very good English except the housekeeping maids which is expected. We had a small walled private terrace with 2 sun lounges but the weather let us down. Main downside was the TV only 3 channels were in English and it Bbc world cnn international and bloomberg all mostly financial news which suited me fine but the kids and the wife were not impressed. Disney channels were dubbed in Spanish so the kids made good use of free wifi on their ipads to watch youtube videos. I would have expected some facility to order English language films in 4 star hotel but none was present. Buffet was 15 euros per person but free for m

Generally a very good location and a nice hotel. The staff were excellent. The only drawbacks were that the outside jacuzzi tub which we paid extra to have never got hot enough to enjoy, and one of our rooms had some ants.

The hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. Large, attractive, comfortable room with great linen. The bathroom was large and comfortable with plenty of room to place all our bathroom products (which are a lot). The staff was professional and helpful. They went out of their way to give us tips and make us comfortable. Great location as well, right in the middle of everything. The only downside was the bed. It was two twins pushed together. One of us kept slipping into that small trench that forms in the middle. Not a huge downside. I would definitely recommend it to anyone and stay there again myself happily.

Central Madrud

Pros: Location. Staff. Comfy bed.Very spacious bedroom.
Cons: Tea bags and a kettle please
Location: Superb location. Very vibrant. Easy to walk most ofCentral Madrid and the red tour bus stops just opposite the hotel. Lots and lots of places to eat a
Great location. Wonderful staff-very friendly, helpful and mannerly. Good breakfast with plenty of choice. We had a 6th floor room with terrace. I am a light sleeper and could still hear the street noise from below but it is a very busy area. My husband heard nothing! Would stay again. Madrid is a fun, laid back city . Thoroughly enjoyed it.
