"Good Location"
Glad I took some time locating this hotel it was well worth it. Regular direct tram connection every 5-10 minutes and only three stops from Hauptbahnhoff. (Central Station) 10-15 mins walk to the Tollwood site and 10 mins walk (two tram stops) to the Augustiner Keller which has a great atmosphere and good well priced food and beer all served quickly. The hotel was clean and the public areas in traditional style but bright and appealing. Our room and beds very comfortable suited our requirements perfectly. The only negative is the traffic noise when the window is open to allow fresh air into the room. Would rate this hotel 9 out of 10. and would certainly reccomend. The Christmas markets in Munich were lovely but a day trip to Nurenberg was definately worth a day trip too.

"Tiny room, awkward stairs to floor/room, no wifi"
It was an ok hotel. Ive been to Europe many times, and am used to small rooms. This was tiny. The other 2 I went with were shocked. (We did add a 3rd bed/cot but barely fit and could not open balcony door) Couldnt get wifi in the room and we were right above lobby. As international traveler without cell service, we rely on wifi to communicate. And check weather. The cot/roll away bed was very uncomfortable. The staff was nice, had tourist map, helped point out places of interest. Since couldnt get wifi in room 1 floor above, we sat in the dining room. She let us until she had to lock up at leave at 10pm.

"Small, cleanly designed rooms; good value"
Though the room was small, the clean design helps. About 3 km from Marienplatz and fairly close to Oktoberfest. Good buffet breakfast for a reasonable price.

"Lovely guest house in central location"
We originally booked a budget room for two (on the 4th floor), but when we arrived, a standard double room (on 2nd floor) was available and we received a free upgrade! As you would expect with guest houses, the bathroom is shared with other guest, but we found that no problem. The bathroom was spacious, clean and airy with plenty of hot water and clean hand towels. There was also a communal area with kettle, fridge and microwave, all clean and modern. The guest house itself is an old Munich town house with original staircase and wooden floors. It is situated in a lovely part of Munich called the Westend, with plenty of nice restaurants and bars with a modern feel and only 10 minutes away from the city centre by tube/underground. Staff spoke German and English and were friendly and approachable. We also received a voucher code for the free Wi-Fi which worked fine from our room. The room was cleaned daily and we had fresh sheets and towels every day. The sink was big enough for two people to use comfortably and the furniture and bed were new, clean and stylish. We didn't use the TV, but it looked new and in working order. Only thing I would note is that there is no lift, so be prepared to carry your bags/suitcases up to your room. Also, as it is an old town house (though renovated!), there was no air-conditioning or ceiling fan in the room, so we had to have our window open as the weather was hot. Noise from the street below wasn't a problem for us, so we had no issues.

Laim also has a beer garden and a weekly farmer's market.
