The atmosphere was quiet and calming, and the surrounding area is beautiful with lots of shops and dining options. Koto provides different types of rooms, including dorms. We stayed in a twin Japanese-styled futon room with shared bathroom on the third floor. The third floor only has two twin guest rooms sharing a shower and toilet (there are three twin rooms on the fourth floor sharing a shower/toilet). The third floor also has the laundry and shared kitchen/balcony, and it's one less flight of stairs to climb (no elevator, stairs only). The sink in the toilet room did not have running hot water during our stay. The staff are all very nice and tries to be as accommodating as possible (with advanced notice). Location is great, steps away from the Fushimi Inari Shrine.
