"My friends and I go on a group trip each year. There were 13 of us (all 30+) that stayed in the house for 6 nights and it was great! We rented golf carts to get around Potrero and Flamingo. It was easy to ride the roads in the area with a golf cart. The house is in walking distance to Hemingways and a few other restaurants and markets. It’s a quiet area at night, not too close to restaurants so you can hear everything, just a good close enough distance to walk. We felt extremely safe and...

"The house is modern, bright, airy and fully equipped with all amenities. Loved the morning visits by the resident monkeys. Perfect location close to private beach which has spectacular sunsets each night. Beach club is awesome and Playa Avallena is such a great, beautiful beach for surfing and boogie boarding. Melissa is a great host, super available and responsive! Don't miss the waterfall tour and catamaran tour and dinner at Lola's at sunset!"

"My husband and I booked this property to take our two young adult sons (21 and 22)on a family vacation. The gated community was perfect for our sons to venture out without us worrying about them driving to unfamiliar areas. It was very convenient to have shops, cafe, restaurant and bar in the gated community. I spent more time on the patio by the pool than in the house! Beautiful layout with sun and shaded areas at different times of the day, surprisingly private. You can also see the estuary...

"We came to Tamarindo for a wedding, but didn’t want to stay at the hotel. There were 7 adults in our group who wanted something more private so we chose Hacienda del Pacifico. Pros: Each bedroom had its own bathroom. Courtyard area with pool and outdoor kitchen was AMAZING. Cleaning service came on certain days. Property felt safe and secure. Check in/out was very easy. Host was very responsive and helpful. Access to the beach was VERY convenient. House provided beach chairs, towels, ice...

"We had a great stay. But... We did encounter scorpions, in the house, multiple times. Pretty scary for us. Apparently this might not be a big deal in Costa Rica. But I think it's good to know before going. We also had a bunch of biting ants that were streaming into the house through a hole in the wall one night. Yikes!!! And there was a very nasty ground bee nest by the pool. We managed through all of this but it was as bit of a surprise and I might have liked to know before going..."

"We’ve stayed in numerous VRBOs in several countries. This was our best one yet! It’s the end unit of a place that’s not a “resort” in the traditional sense, but is for all intents and purposes. The combination of the best beach in Costa Rica right out the door, with amazing facilities (wow ~ that pool!), great restaurants within walking distance and a gracious, happy staff makes this the perfect beach vacation."

"We had a great stay. The house is lovely and the pool and garden are small but great. There is a lot of construction in the area so it was quite noisy during the day. Great monkey and bird citings. My son left some things outside one night and got stolen. Overall a great spot and the staff are helpful!"

"I'm in awe of this property, love the floor to ceiling side to side windows in the living room. The rooms and bathrooms are comfortable and spacious. Bilitis was super helpful in helping me book transportation, catamaran and private chef services. Benjamin and the housekeepers are also very friendly. "The pictures on line are older, and do not reflect present conditions. We enjoyed our stay, great location. BUT, the place badly needs to be updated and is not well maintained. Just a lot of little things. The biggest problem was that the host was not truthful when asked about the hot tub. I specifically asked if it was working (because of earlier reviews) and was told it was working, it was not, probably has not worked in awhile, the pump motor is buried in sand. We loved the wildlife, howler...
