Top Isola Polvese Hotel Reviews

Hotel Sant'Ercolano

Hotel Sant'Ercolano

10/10 Excellent
"Very nice staff at this convenient and basic hotel. Very clean and comfortable. It's about 3 minutes walk from the minimetro stop very near the main piazzas. The staff were very welcoming, allowed us to drop off luggage early and gave us caffé on arrival, then we returned later to check in. We opted to have the breakfast at the hotel, which was fine and convenient since we needed to check out early and catch a train. For the price and the staff and an authentic experience in beautiful Perugia, it's a top choice. If you want luxury, it's maybe not the place for you. We'll return when we next stay in Perugia!"

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Isola Polvese?
The best time to go to Isola Polvese is during the shoulder seasons of May, early June, September, and early October.

These months offer pleasant weather for exploring the island and enjoying Lake Trasimene without the peak summer crowds. You'll find temperatures are comfortably warm, ideal for walking, cycling, and dining outdoors, and the natural beauty of the Umbrian landscape is at its best.

For couples seeking a peaceful escape, these periods are perfect. You can enjoy romantic strolls along the lake shore, explore the historic ruins, and savour quiet meals at local trattorias without the hustle and bustle of July and August. The mild weather also makes it ideal for boat trips on the lake.

Families travelling with children will also appreciate the shoulder seasons. The cooler temperatures make outdoor activities more enjoyable for little ones, and fewer crowds mean a more relaxed experience at attractions and dining spots.
