« Loved this place, a little out of Cartmel but liked that, pleasant evening stroll into town, great view across the racecourse, well looked after hotel, plenty of parking

Room had aroma of the open fire from downstairs even though not lit.
No tv in room view was over the garbage area. »

« Great value for money.
The view from the room was lovely, the bed was comfortable and clean. Shower was nice and warm. Plenty of tea/coffee provided. My meal in the bar was very nice and the staff were friendly and helpful.
It is a very old coaching inn, and needs a little tlc in places (e.g, the corridors/stairs could do with a lick of paint) but this is reflected in the price. The room was nicely decorated and well presented. I enjoyed my stay & will happily stay again in the future. »

« A beautiful old property with stunning grounds and views, friendly, helpful staff, and an old fashioned wood panelled interior. The public areas and dining area are lovely. I had a single room with comfy bed, plenty of tea/coffee & storage. England suite was well equipped. l was a little surprised at the marks on the paintwork around the bed for such a high quality hotel, but this didn't affect my stay »
