![This picture was taken on Main Street in Galax, Va. These are fiddles that spell "Love" in four glass shadow boxes beside a music store called Barr's Fiddle Shop which has been in Galax for 40 years. Fiddles are one of the main instruments that mountain music is based on. When this music first started it was called hillbilly music which then later was called blue grass. When I saw this driving down Main Street, I knew that I wanted to take a picture of it because of the musical aspect and the history behind it. Because I have had a lot of experience of the Appalachian mountains, bluegrass is something that "characterizes a mountaineer", especially the older generation. This picture represents the love that mountain people have for this musical entertainment. This is shown through the annual Old Fiddlers Convention which occurs an entire week in August for the past 82 years. « Me and my wife came up for Thanksgiving week, the cabin was very nice, and quiet , it has a great view of the mountains and there were a ton of deer that like to hangout in the front yard, and the lake out front has some nice large mouth bass . Definitely would recommend it for a quiet relaxing vacation.. »

« this place is so beautiful! We came here for one night and it was so worth it. Beautiful scenery both outside and inside, the decor in the house makes it feel so homey!! Cell service was great, so no wifi wasn’t bad, plus we like to unplug when it comes to vacation. Will definitely be visiting again!! »
