![Forest park is a 5,100-acre municipal park sitting square in the middle (well, a bit to the left of the middle) of the city of Portland, Oregon.  But to call it a municipal park, is like calling the Eiffel Tower an I-beam.  The park is essentially a people-friendly urban forest, complete with all the flora and fauna you might expect to find there.  There are seventy miles of walking trails, one of them -- the Wildwood Trail is 29 miles long from one end to the other.  The park itself is about 8 miles to a side, so there are places at its heart that make you forget you are anywhere near a municipal area.

This shot was taken at about mile 17 of the Wildwood Trail.  The blue diamond on the tree in the background is a quarter-mile marker.

« I stayed here for a long stay and it was really pleasant. The unit is very well maintained, and has a lot of the needed equipment to cook your own meals, an easy to operate TV and an amazingly comfortable bed.You can hear some of the noises from the unit above, but they also respect the same quiet hours. They were super friendly and provide a lot of information in the unit's check-in information so communication is easy. You are really inside a neighborhood at the edge of Forest Park, so you...

Pour le reste on retrouve toutes les qualités des Hampton Inn (belles chambre bien équipée, climatisation assez silencieuse, bon WIFI, très bon petit-déjeuner...). A noter que la piscine était hors d'usage mais on pouvait utliser celle du Sheraton voisin. A noter l'efficacité de la navette pour l'aéroport. »

"The sound from the fan outside makes a crazy noise, the answer was "oh we are very sorry" but we have no more room available right now. When you stay in hotel, it's just because you want to rest and sleep.It doesn't make any sense to rent a room where you cannot sleep in ! I haven't even spent the night because it was so noisy.I had to leave to another place in town. I've been staying to that place in the last 15 years.But that's the very last time. "

"Tres bon emplacement a Portland, possibilité d’être à pied en hyper centre, personnel très efficace, pas de petit déjeuner, mais un excellent café et des cookies frais dans le séjour de l’hôtel le matin ! Excellent rapport qualité prix pour Portland. À noter : en restant 2 nuits, pas de service de chambre le deuxième jour, ce qui est un peu dommage..sans changer le linge, vider les poubelles et remettre de l’eau et du café aurait été parfait !"
