"We traveled to Detroit to see the Black Crowes show at the Fillmore and spend a weekend together with family. Our stay at the Lumber Baron's Mansion was phenomenal. The location is excellent for any/all downtown activities and there's plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance. Our host was extremely responsive and provided very clear communication. The interior was beautiful and well equipped. Highly recommended, will stay here again!"

"Locating the property was pretty easy and there was ample parking. The building itself is a bit older and is showing its age on the outside and inside. You can tell the host is in the process of trying to upgrade some things, but it doesn't impair any functionality. Unless i am booking a resort, where the room is the destination and focus of the trip, I am looking for safety, quiet, and sleep. This delivered all three of those things. "Newly renovated was the only positive. Wasn’t upfront about the plugged toilet and tried to mask the smell by locking the door and putting bleach in the bottom of the dishwasher and Lysol. Was promised 2 bathrooms and 4 adults from different families had to use one. A charge of garbage disposal for $50 We were from a different country - where is the garbage going to go. "It was great to bring our dogs with us on our visit to Detroit. The accommodations were Clean and comfortable and we had everything we needed. The neighbors were pleasant and the bar down the street was a nice place to have a drink. We visited Belle Isle and Gross Pointe Park. We found great restaurants that allowed dogs for outside dining. Great trip! "

"It was close to everything. We went to Ford Field, which was only a 5-10 minute walk. Theres plenty of restaurants close by to chose from. Or, right next door theres a convenient store, which has all kinds of things to chose from"

"Absolutely loved our stay! The room was spacious, clean, and stocked with every amenity. The bed was extremely comfortable (even the pillows!) and we slept so well. It was the first hot weekend of the summer, and the AC kept the room the perfect temperature, quietly. As for location, I've stayed in a few downtown Detroit hotels and I really enjoyed where this one was located.
