"Clean rooms and great kitchen facilities. Josie was very good at communicating with guest and that was highly appreciated as we had a hot water issue as the heater was not functioning properly which left us with cold water only. I recommend ensuring this has been resolved before you choose to stay here. Otherwise great."
Charming Alpine Chalet 'Faithfulls' at Dinner Plain - Pet Friendly
10/10 Excellent
"We had a family getaway which included our dog. Faithfulls was perfectly located between the trees and was great to be able to park in front of the house. Walking ability to the village with cafe, shops pub and supermarket as well as the bus to Mt Hotham. A fabulous well equipped house - our host was great checking in to make sure we had enough firewood or if we needed anything else. "
"We were very disappointed with our stay and would not recommend this accommodation.Hygiene: The property was poorly maintained. On arrival, bowls, plates, and pans were dirty and burnt—we had to handwash everything before dinner. Flyscreens, skirtings, and bathroom exhaust fans were dusty and moldy, clearly not cleaned since last winter. We even felt blocked noses after some time indoors.Privacy: The blinds in the family bedroom were broken and stuck halfway, leaving us with zero privacy. The neighbor’s window is less than two meters away, which is unacceptable.Amenities: Only one tiny shampoo/body wash pack was provided for four nights for everyone. Compare this with nearby accommodation that provides full bottled toiletries—even for shorter stays—and the difference is glaring.Layout: The bedroom setup was poorly thought out. The small room had a bulky bunk bed with a double on the bottom, forcing us to squeeze in uncomfortably, while the larger room had a single bed below.Lighting: The dining area was dimly lit with just one weak bulb above the table, making it feel dark and outdated.Value for Money: We paid less last year for accommodation on the same street and had a much better experience in cleanliness, facilities, and comfort.Overall, this was one of the most disappointing stays we’ve had in Dinner Plain, and until the owner addresses these issues, I would recommend booking elsewhere."
"This apartment was clean and cosy. It is in the best location close to the main circle and opposite the supermarket, a few doors from restaurants and bars. There were some maintenance things that need to be fixed as it is dated / aging- door handles coming off or very stiff; ignition on stove not working so need matches to light gas, a chair seat had come off (but there are extra dining chairs so we didn’t use it). The kitchen was very well equipped, even having a slow cooker. It was easy to cater for a family. Take some extra tea towels, hand towels and bathmat as we only received one of each and only one bath towel per person. As there were no heated towel rails and the drying room was filled with ski stuff, we really needed more of everything. When I emailed to ask for extras, we didn’t get a response. Overall, a very good stay. "
