Overall a great spot to stay - most everything is walking distance - cost wise and location make it a great spot to stay- my criticisms of this place should not stop anyone from coming here- I’d stay again - just approach it differently
Just a note there is an excellent coffee shop 30 seconds away - Elliot’s
Pros:
-if you get there early or need to store your luggage for late departures they will store your luggage for you.
-Location is great
- cost
Cons:
-Tipping- not the norm in Ireland-but the staff seemed to take advantage of ignorance of most Americans.
- check in felt very clunky and seems to take longer due to the unique self check in just caused a bigger bottle neck
- breakfast was expensive (24 Eu) and the selection was ok- ran out of things fast if you got there after 9 am
-bar drinks were way more expensive than regular bars"
"Had to park 20 minutes away after driving around for two hours looking for parking. Their parking deck was closed and two alternate decks were they recommended were full. Called hotel to send a cab to parking deck only to be told that you had to ring a bell at their parking garage and someone would have opened it. Not on their website nor was told this before trip. Was hung up on twice trying to get a cab sent by them to parking deck 20 minutes away which costed me 80.00 for two days. Staff at desk were rude."
"Cleanliness of room was very poor, found hairs in the bath, on the sink on the floor and on the bed sheets. There was also sharp nails or tacks sticking out of the carpet which was very unsafe especially as we had or baby that is starting to crawl. The only positive we could take was the manager of the restaurant at breakfast was so welcoming and accommodating to us she was a pleasure to deal with."
"We stayed here one night before our flight. We went to dinner in the hotel restaurant and the staff was very friendly, good service and good food. Shuttle to Airport was timely. I would recommend this hotel."
"We are a couple in our early 60's who stayed for 4 nights at the Marlin Dublin. We found this hotel to be in a very good location. The walk to many of our chosen destinations was about 10-20 minutes. It was also about a 5 minute walk to Stephen Green tram station. We appreciated that we could store our luggage prior to check in. We were very grateful to Victoria who ensured our check in to be efficient and pleasant. Our very early morning check out was also smooth thanks to Yaseen. The lobby was large and had plenty of seating and interesting decor. There was even a Photo Booth (although we didn't use it). We paid ahead to have the breakfast buffet included and found it be very good with hot and cold selections (a full Irish breakfast). We had dinner at the restaurant and it was delicious with very good service. The seating area was interesting with lots of unique decor. Our room was a moderate size and the bed, a queen, was very comfortable with 2 decent pillows. There was a coffee maker and boxed water. There was a safe, and a small closet. The window had curtains & blinds (operated by buttons near the bed) so the room was very dark for a great sleep. Our room was extremely quiet as it was located at a back corner. Shower had excellent water pressure & a half glass wall rather than a door. Toiletries were L'Occitane. Lots of outlets & ports on desk & nightstands. Overall, our room was very comfortable. A great location & stellar staff make this a hotel we would recommend."
"Wonderful hotel. The staff are amazing very helpful. Breakfast was excellent. The only comment would be about the food menu at the bar & restaurant for dinner. I think they need to up their game for both."
