Sheltering Pines - Oregon Beach Vacations Sheltering Pines is custom built house in Depoe Bay that has it all: an oceanfront location, a hot tub, and private beach access! Breathtaking ocean views greet up to 10 guests at Sheltering Pines - a four bedroom, three and a half bath, cedar-shingled home overlooking seven miles of beautiful beach. The upscale interior of this contemporary two-story retreat features an open floor plan with large scale windows and nine-foot ceilings. There's plenty of elbow room in this great house for groups that enjoy being alone as well as together during vacation. Downstairs, the stylish great room floor plan combines living, kitchen, and dining areas so everyone can join in the fun. The living room provides comfortable and ample seating on three couches, two club chairs, and various table chairs. An expansive dining table for ten is perfect for playing games, crafting, admiring ocean views, or large group meals. Many guests have commented on the joyful hours spent around this custom table. An HD flat screen TV in the great room. There is also a half bath powder room that serves the great room. Games are stored in the entry hall credenza. In the fully appointed kitchen, the chef is never separate from the rest of the crowd and can enjoy amazing ocean views while cooking! Appliances include a refrigerator, a microwave, a dishwasher, and a gas cooktop stove and oven. There are several special extra touches available in this kitchen: baking pans, a rolling pin, a waffle iron, a hot air popcorn maker, a crock pot, coffee makers, a blender, a toaster, a Brita water filter, pots and pans, and utensils for at least twelve people. The main floor laundry room has a full capacity washer and dryer, an ironing board, an iron, and a full-size rinse sink for hand washables. There are three very large primary bedrooms, each with their own individually controlled heating source. One bedroom is on the main level and two can be found upstairs, all with king beds. The downstairs has an attached bath featuring a large shower. The upstairs west facing room has a view of the ocean through the pine trees. The bathroom just outside the door has a full-sized shower and would be shared with the bunk-bed room. The upstairs east facing bedroom is quieter, and the attached bathroom has a six-foot tub with a hand sprayer. All bathrooms include a hair dryer and a close-up mirror. A cozy little bunk-bed room upstairs includes a trundle. Both upstairs bedrooms have TVs, closets, and dressers. Additional sleeping is available on the sofa sleeper and rollaway bed. The oceanfront deck, extra-large and nestled under the pines, can accommodate ten for outdoor dining. Up to six people can watch the ocean waves while relaxing in the hot tub. Just below the deck, a cedar log Philosopher's Bench faces the ocean for quiet contemplation. The sheltered south facing deck is next to a built-in river rock barbeque grill and is good for sunbathing. Come down to Sheltering Pines with your family today and relax in style, comfort, and luxury like you deserve! Séjour de 2 nuits en décembre 2025 ### 6/10 – Acceptable #### Lavinia M. 20 nov. 2025 Points faibles : Propreté The parking, deck, beach access and superb view are the great reasons to stay here!The home has seen better days...could use some updates but mostly adequate; the kitchen items was a haphazard collection, missing lids, unsharpened knives, pans with burned on food and actual leftover food not cleaned off (utensils,serving items, pots/pans); when we unlocked the hot tub to use, it was murky and heavy with algae growth (unusable); the beautiful wall of windows view was limited by accumulated dirt and spray (we had to clean them all inside and out; there were cobwebs hanging and generally not very clean floor, furniture or carpets (we all live with kids and animals, so we are not clean freaks); the bunk bed room is more like a closet with no other furniture possible and should not be passed off as a BR for 2 adults; the master BR and bathroom upstairs has only a tub with a handheld spray for a shower but no curtain or tiled wall, so unusable. ##### Lavinia M. The living room and dining area set up were perfect for socializing and game playing. The view of the ocean is absolutely breathtaking. We were able to take many walks on the beach straight out our door. Many restaurants are close by. We also loved the hot tub and found the rooms to be spacious and comfortable, 2 with their own bathrooms. We had three couples and two teen/preteens. The bunk bed room was a bit small for the tweens but would be great for younger children. Sitting in the hot tub in the evenings looking up at the stars was magical. Close to town and activities yet secluded on a quiet beach and road it offers the best of everything. ##### Susan G. The kitchen had plenty of cookware and dishes which was nice. BUT the house was filthy, we even had to vacuum before we could put our toddler down on it. We picked up so much crud in the vacuum. The rugs and carpet are old, wore out and need to be replaced, I didn't want to walk barefoot in the house. The range hood vent is glass and in desperate need of a good wash. The pic of the floor shows the grippers for the rug, which are no longer aligned. The biggest disappointment was the hot tub, it was filthy and murky water, (see pics) My husband owns a hot tub store, we drained it, refilled it, and put chlorine in it ourselves. We also sprayed out the filter. The filter was missing the top piece so it wasn't even working properly. They also need to cut back some of the trees for a better view. The trees are dropping needles on the deck as well as sap, creating a mess. We especially loved the short walk to the tide pools. Enjoyed the hot tub. Loved that we could have the doors and windows open so we could hear the ocean and still stay warm with the fireplace running. Kitchen was very well stocked. All appliances were clean and worked well. Beds were very comfy. Plenty of room for our group of 7 to hang out. Only negatives were that 1) one of the bathrooms had a tub with a sprayer handle but not a shower. But that was mentioned in the description so we knew going into it, so not a complaint - just not ideal, and 2) the outdoor grill situation wasn’t usable. There was a larger charcoal grill that was piled high with ashes, a small portable charcoal grill that was too small for our group to use and another brick chimney-type grill with a very dirty grate. Ended up making a wood fire on the beach to cook our sausages over and had a blast. Again, not a complaint but something you might want to communicate with the host about if you plan on grilling. Our whole group loved our stay and we hope to come again! ##### Lynn S. As we entered the property, we did notice a lot of dust on tops of spaces and grime on windows which made the beautiful view hard to appreciate. One of our guests actually ended up cleaning the windows just so we could see the ocean view better. The house is as advertised and has all your basic needs. It could use some hot tub towels so you don’t have to use your bathroom linens for the hot tub. Also, the hot tub was not clean. It did have Pineneedles and sand in it. It didn’t keep us from using it. Also, it would be helpful if guests were notified that there is no coffee provided for the two coffee machines. These types of little things make a stay worth five stars as opposed to four stars. We cooked every meal and the kitchen supplies were adequate. We also used the fire place and it heated the main room well. The location of this property is the main attraction. It is steps from the beach. With private beach access you really can’t beat a better spot. It is recommended to cut back some of the vegetation because it was hard to access the beach path due to foliage. We appreciated the beach toys for the kids as well. Overall we enjoyed our stay and for the cost, would stay again. ##### Cathleen D. The view was perfect and the deck with rocking chairs was a lovely place for evening cocktails. Hot tub is well situated, but it was full of sand and pine needles when we arrived. The kitchen is very small for the number of bedrooms in the house, but it was fine for my husband and I and we never even went upstairs. The beds are too soft and the sheets were like sandpaper. Owners should invest in the "Comphy Company" sheets. Notice the spelling. I discovered these sheets this summer at a B&B in Jacksonville, OR. Your guests would notice! ##### Barbara W.
