Carlisle Beach arcs along the base of a deep and narrow bay on Antigua’s southern coast. Sheltered by the bay’s undulating coastline, Carlisle Beach has beautifully protected waters and an intricate reef system. Swim in the luxuriously warm waters or explore the bay’s snorkeling sites. Book a room at one of the resorts or villas lining the foreshore and recline on a lounge chair under the shade of a beach umbrella.

Take a leisurely stroll along the gently curving strand. Look east to the southern coast’s striking landscape of rolling hills forested with tropical foliage. A tidal inlet connects with the bay waters on the beach’s eastern edge. Look west where a rocky point separates Carlisle Bay from Curtain Bluff. Find a spot to sit and relax on the soft sands. Palm trees offer dappled shade. Alternatively, rent a beach umbrella from one of the resorts behind you. Gaze out toward the captivating Caribbean Sea, where fishing boats and yachts frequently sail past.

Dip your toes into the warm waters and play in the shallows. Swim in the deeper waters and note the clarity of the water. We absolutely loved our stay at The Escape at Nonsuch Bay! The rooms are even better in person than in the photos and very private and romantic. Everyone was so kind and helpful. They even made vegan options at every meal for myself and my husband. This felt more like a boutique hotel than an all inclusive which was perfect for us. It's in a more remote part of the island so be prepared to take taxis or rent a car if you want to explore. Parking is available and the concierge was very helpful with arranging taxis and other excursions.
