"The indoor pool was really cold so that was disappointing. Breakfast could be better. Staff was friendly. The room was ok. I would say it was ok in general but I've been to nicer best westerns"

"I had a very nice stay at this hotel while attending the Illinois State Fair. I stayed in the original part that was built for Route 66 traffic. The lobby and common areas has lots of Route 66 memorabilia to enjoy.
The hotel and my room was very clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. My room was large. I believe the hotel was updated in the late1990s so the decor is a bit dated, but is in great shape.
I had read a few reviews that said the hotel smelled, but this was definitely NOT the case. Next time I'm in Springfield, I'll stay here again"
"Great location for visiting downtown and Lincoln home and museum. Quaint older building with lots of character and personality. Not plastic like the modern chains. Breakfast very good and just right. "
