"The hotel facilities, the dining, the staff were all absolutely fine. The room, however, was on 2 levels with even a step down on entry. Awkward. It was situated at the front of the building over some sort of service room with a generator or boiler that emitted a constant drone all through the night. Occasionally it would cut out only to re-start a short while later. As a result we had very little sleep. The noise could be heard outside the building as well; and of course it carries more at night."

"My partner and I had a wonderful three-night stay at Rhinefield House for his birthday. The staff were all excellent - a special mention to Deborah at breakfast and afternoon tea, whose warmth and personality really stood out - but everyone we encountered was lovely. They also made a thoughtful effort to acknowledge my partner’s birthday, which we hadn’t expected and really appreciated. We were lucky with the weather, which meant we could properly enjoy the beautiful grounds, especially sitting by the pond - a real highlight of the stay. A couple of minor points of feedback. On the first morning we were woken at around 5.30am by a fairly loud, continuous noise, like a motor running. This did continue intermittently throughout the stay, including late at night and early mornings, although not quite as loud after the first instance. It wasn’t disruptive enough for us to request a room move, but worth noting. Secondly, the outdoor pool is open from 9am to 4pm. As we were out during the day, it would have been nice if it stayed open later. We did have a look while passing and it looked like it could do with a bit of attention - there were leaves in the water and it didn’t feel particularly inviting. Appreciate it’s early in the season, but a bit of upkeep here would go a long way. I mention these as constructive feedback rather than criticism, as overall we had a really lovely first stay. Thank you to the team - we would definitely return."

"Can not fault any aspect of two nights spent in the Burley Inn, nothing was too much trouble from all the staff we came into. Lorraine and Steve were particularly helpful, friendly and very polite. One very small negative point there was not a USB charging point in the room but a this was overcome by the staff providing a plug with a USB attachment. Would stay in the Burley Inn again without any hestitation if and when I am in the Area. Mike Glendinning "

"Hotel was in a good location and room was nice. A couple of the fittings need attention and the cleaners did not replace “consumables”. It is a self checkout so can’t rate the stafff. Overall a good stay"

"This little cottage was perfect for our needs. We were 4 adults sharing the space. We spent 4 nights here and loved every moment. Our Host Lina was very thorough with her welcome and provided everything we needed and more. Stag Cottage was an excellent base while down visiting family near here and exploring the area. There are so many trails, I wish we had more time to stay. The village of Burley is lovely and idyllic. The cottage was very clean and there was a welcome basket with drinks and snacks. The hot tub was perfect to soak in after busy days. "

"We loved our stay here. We’d come to run a local half marathon and the staff went out of their way to ensure we could have an earlier breakfast than the usual times. All of the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The room was cosy but so cute and had all we needed. The beds were comfy with lovely bedding. We’d definitely return and recommend to others. "

"Really enjoyed our recent stay at the Moorhill House, the newly refurbished dining and bar area is so relaxing and looks lovely. The new owners have done a wonderful job and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. It was not our first visit and definitely won’t be the last. "

"The room was perfect, lovely bathroom as well, however the hotel experienced a power outage overnight & therefore there was no hot water, lighting, no hot food for breakfast - and for whatever reason the toilets wouldn’t flush, which nobody seemed to realise. We had to pack the relative darkness looking for our belongings from the lights from our phones, and finding a way down the corridors in a huge sprawling hotel in the dark was quite tricky. I realise this is not exactly the hotels fault but they didn’t do anything to ease the process. Every room that morning was freezing. They didn’t light any of the fireplaces or provide any form of apologies. We left somewhat disappointed."
